  1. How long have you been with TXINS?

This past August I celebrated my 4th anniversary with TXINS.

  1. What is your favorite thing about working for TXINS?

I like that TXINS has several office locations, it specializes in insuring niche markets, and our agents have the ability to write in more than 40 states.

  1. Do you have any hobbies?

My favorite hobby is raising horses and cows with my husband. I truly love animals. We have been raising horses so long that some of our horses are 3rd and 4th generations from those we originally raised. We have shown horses on both local and national levels. We are very proud of our stock and the success we’ve had.

I am also am a big coupon shopper. I love to find super savings, buy in bulk, and share with those in need. Giving back to those in need is very important to me.

  1. Tell us about your family.

I met my husband, Eloy, in 1989 at a rodeo. We married in December 1991. He is my best friend and my soulmate. My parents, Todd and Sue Patton, don’t live far from us and have been a big part of my life. I have one brother who is married to a wonderful person and has given us a niece and a nephew. I don’t know what I would do without all of them.

  1. What is one of your favorite things to do?

My Nanna taught me the joy of cooking. I love cooking and sharing with others.

  1. If you could have any superpower, what would you choose?

If I could have one superpower it would be to heal cancer. Cancer is everywhere we look and I want to take it away from those suffering from it.

  1. What did you want to be when you grew up?

All my life I wanted to be a veterinarian. But low and behold I ended up in insurance. It seems to be a family trade because my mother retired from being in insurance for more than 30 years and my brother is also in the industry.

  1. What’s one goal still on your bucket list?

I’ve always wanted to open a catering business due because of my love of cooking.

This December Eloy and I will celebrate our 24th wedding anniversary.

  1. Where is your favorite place to relax and unwind?

I tend to relax and unwind by cooking or just walking out in the pasture and petting my horses. Animals are so calming and give unconditional love. They ask for nothing in return and are always so glad to see you.

  1. What is your favorite movie or movie quote?

I have so many favorite movies and love to quote movie lines. One that we say a lot is Doc Holiday’s famous line “I’m your Huckleberry” from Tombstone.

  1. Do you have any funny client stories?

Once I was trying to explain a property to an underwriter who was new to farming and ranching and definitely NOT from Texas. I drew an illustration of a cattle guard at the entrance to the property. She immediately wanted to know if the “the guards” were armed. I explained what a cattle guard was and how we used them here in the South. We both laughed for quite a while about that one.

  1. If you had 3 wishes, what would you wish for?

1. No one in USA would be homeless or hungry
2. People would not “judge a book by its cover”
3. There would be less hate in our nation
