Meet the TXINS Team – Yvette Smith

yvette-smithYvette Smith is the friendly voice and welcoming face of TXINS when you call or stop by the El Campo office. Yvette joined our team as the receptionist last October and she is a joy to have in the office. Yvette is always willing to lend a hand whenever needed. Along with being a true professional, she handles client concerns quickly and efficiently. We can always count on Yvette – she’s definitely spoiled us!

  1. How long have you been with TXINS?

I joined the TXINS team in October 2014.

  1. What is your favorite thing about working for TXINS?

My favorite thing is definitely the family and team atmosphere. Everyone is caring, understanding, and willing to help with any and everything.

  1. Do you have any hobbies?

I enjoy cooking and trying out new recipes. I also love the outdoors – fishing, boating, and working in my yard. But most of all, I love spending time with my family.

  1. Tell us about your family.

I’ve been married to my best friend, Jeff, since October 13, 1996. I have two step-daughters, Casey (28) and Courtney (22) and three step-granddaughters, Paxton (4), and twins Brynn and Brodi, who were born December 29, 2015.

  1. What is your favorite food?

I love Mexican food, especially fajitas, chips, and hot sauce.

  1. What did you want to be when you grew up?

Growing up I always thought I wanted to be a nurse. But when it came to me giving someone a shot, I changed my mind. I hate needles! Even though I would be hurting them to help them, I can’t get past the needle. I am willing to help anyone any way I can, just not with a needle.

blue-marlin

We caught this blue marlin on our trip to Cabo San Lucas. We had lots of fun on the beautiful water and sandy beaches.

  1. What’s one goal still on your bucket list?

I want to travel and see the world. Visiting Alaska would be a great start.

  1. Where is your favorite place to relax and unwind?

My favorite place is at the beach, on a boat, or just being with my family. On the weekends, I like to take trips to the Hill Country or the bay. I enjoy market/trade days and craft shows around the area. If nothing else, I’ll never pass up going to Mom’s “bed and breakfast” for home-cooked meals and relaxation.

The newest additions to our family, Brynn and Brodi. Born on December 29…they were the perfect way to ring in the New Year!
